So finally we were here for our love of life.
Yes Food <3
With no exaggeration, I was already drooling, looking at those Nihari & Biryani pictures on Facebook and one wise woman said “When desi food looks good in pictures it got to be good in taste as well” and wallahye, I was not disappointed at all ( By the way that wise woman is me 🤣)
I am basically very content and uncomplicated when it comes to food but I am still very specific about The Pakistani food, specifically being Karachiate I understand about the difference of Hyderabadi and Karachi Biryani and the only common ingredient is probably Rice & Meat 🤣 so don’t even compare.
You are true Karachi wala if potato ( Well cooked Aalu) is clear preference in your Biryani and I am glad that the aalu was right there and saying it loud “Aao mujhe Khaoo” 😀
There is no joke when someone claim to serve authentic Karachi style Biryani and Nihari because you simply can’t avoid the comparison and of course when we had to compare with the authentic Karachi taste in Riyadh. We give them 10/10 for the taste and spice level.
I went with my husband and a couple and they generously shared their liking for the food and desire to visit soon to the restaurant.
Since the restaurant has only a soft opening,I suggest Takeaways or delivery. Ma sha Allah, it was already crowded and long waiting and why not because Good things are not easy to get 🥰
The restaurant is presentable and I loved the fact that owner and his whole family were extremely hospitable and working with rest of the staff. Customer service is not something negligible. I may not visit any any restaurant with unsatisfactory customer service in fact I would rather compromise with slow service and ambiance.
I read few comments about the price of food items but we need to understand that every food item of restaurant has its own share to cover the expenses of rent, bills, costing, salaries and of course the profit of their hard work and that’s they whole point of dong business and most importantly the owners and management needs to adore their product with the commitment to provide best service and that too with consistency. So next time when you are skeptical about the higher prices of the menu items. Try to make rough estimation for their set-up, expenses and profit margin. I was this dumb customer as well who used to complain in Pakistan about paying 30 RS for a Nihari in Dhaba and 150 RS in a bigger restaurant but now it’s about time we understand the pricing strategy. So we may not feel bad about paying higher for what we getting in return. However, understanding our community, I would still suggest to reduce a price by cutting their expenses but again knowing the customer buying nature, I understand that, this is the best time for the business because consumer get excited initially and then we see major drop in their buying interest which can have multiple reasons. It’s a long topic so let’s not get into this now 🙂
I am glad that unlike past,Riyadh is not same and we have noticed many other Pakistani restaurants and certainly it’s the end of monopoly of those few restaurants who were not willing to change as per customers’ genuine feedback or working on their menus and ambiance. More restaurants would create a healthy competition and so far The Biryani King is leading with the trendy concept ” Less is more” only 3 items ( We were too full with Biryani and Nihari that we didn’t even ask for the Qorma)🤭
What’s so cool : The authentic taste of Karachi, Pakistan and Nihari with that proper Naan ( No Tameez, Alhamdulillah 🙄)
What’s not so cool : The parking of course. This issue is since forever in Hara. So prefer delivery or takeaways if you don’t want to park your vehicle in far or argue with the parking mafia of shops around. In fact I would rather go by cab next time 🤣 .
So most important question. Is this the place where I may go again:
Oh #yes 🥰
